Thank you for reading another issue of the Jeopardy Answer & Question Recap, or JAQR [“jacker”] for short. This recap includes at least one clue from each Jeopardy! episode between Monday 1/6 and Friday 1/10. The recap includes Triple Stumpers and Daily Doubles. There’s also two questions about material from last week and several Bonus Clues about topics previously covered. The first half of the recap includes just the clues so you can quiz yourself if you want. The second half gives you some (hopefully) interesting information about the clues and/or some related info.

The rapper Austin Richard Post, better known as Post Malone (created by a rap name generator), was born in 1995. His hobbies include Magic: The Gathering, and he once paid $2 million for a rare card. He was featured on Taylor Swift's song "Fortnight," which was the lead single of her 2024 album The Tortured Poets Department and refers to a period of two weeks.

***IZAAK WALTON***
English author Izaak Walton was born in 1593. He was friends with the poet John Donne, and wrote the first biography of him, which was published in 1640. He also wrote a biography of another poet named George Herbert, whose collection The Temple contains "Easter Wings" and “The Altar,” both of which are in the shape of their respective subjects. Walton is best known for the 1653 work The Complete Angler, which discusses the joys of fishing. The work is subtitled “The Contemplative Man’s Recreation” and opens with a dialogue between a fisherman named Piscator, a hunter named Venator, and a fowler named Auceps.

LAX = Los Angeles - located in the Westchester neighborhood of L.A., it has an international terminal named for Tom Bradley, who was the first Black mayor of L.A. and also its longest-serving mayor (1973-1993); LAX also contains the Theme Building, which resembles a flying saucer and is an example of Googie architecture
SFO = San Francisco - located in San Mateo County (named for Saint Matthew), its Terminal 1 is named for the politician Harvey Milk (nicknamed “Mayor of Castro Street”) who in 1977 was elected to the city's Board of Supervisors, making him the first openly gay man elected to public office in the state; the following year, Milk and George Moscone (mayor of SF) were killed by Dan White, whose lawyer was said to have used the “Twinkie defense”
